DSEQ provides assistance or supervision with daily living tasks to help participants live as independently as possible.
Assistance with Domestic Activities
Domestic activities include duties around the home and yard, such as cleaning, meal preparation, gardening, and a variety of other tasks depending on the client’s requirements. This support is particularly beneficial for individuals who require help maintaining their home environment based on their needs and level of ability.Participants may also receive help attending appointments and using aids or appliances, including hearing and communication devices.
Mobility support is an important part of care, with assistance provided for moving in and out of bed, transferring on and off the toilet, and general movement. Where required, support may also include the application of splints and basic first aid for minor injuries related to a participant’s disability.
These supports can be delivered across a range of settings, including in the participant’s home, with family, or in shared living arrangements. Assistance is also available during social, recreational, educational, and employment activities, as well as when participants are travelling or on holidays.
