DSEQ Provides assistance or supervision with daily living chores to help participants live as independently as possible
Assistance with Domestic Activities
Duties around the house and yard include cleaning, meal preparation, gardening, and a variety of tasks depending on the client’s requirements. Assistance with Domestic Activities is useful for clients who may need help around the home depending on their needs and level of ability.
Personal care support includes
Assistance with daily personal activities including assistance with, or supervision of, personal tasks of daily life.
personal hygiene, including showering, bathing, oral hygiene, dressing and grooming;
toileting, bladder and bowel management, and menstrual care;
eating and drinking;
attending appointments;
use of aids and appliances,
hearing and communication devices;
mobility and transferring,
for example, moving in and out of bed and on or off the toilet; or application of splints, basic first aid due to injuries sustained as a result of a participant’s disability.
Personal care support may be required across a variety of settings. For example, a participant living alone in their own home, living with family or other people, when undertaking social, recreational, education or employment activities or during holidays away from home.
Assistance of Personal Activities aims to enhance the quality of life for individuals by providing the necessary help to maintain independence for the person with disability, dignity, and well-being while assisting them in carrying out essential daily tasks.
